December Goals

November and NaNoWriMo are now over, but I’m still feeling the effects. However, it’s time to get back to business as usual. So let’s have a look at what I want to accomplish before the year’s out.

  1. Keep writing fiction every day.

NaNoWriMo showed me how much I can get written in a day when I push myself a bit. While I don’t think I can maintain that kind of pace for a second month (I spent a good part of November feeling exhausted), I still want to ensure I’m writing something new every day. That might take a hit or two with the silly season approaching but it’s something to aim for.

  1. Get the blog schedule back on track.

One of the side effects of NaNoWriMo was that after the first week, any attention to my blog went out the window. Before November I was on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule. I want to try getting back to that.

  1. Really work out a plan for House in Exile.

One thing that my NaNoWriMo project made pretty clear is that working without a plan, while doable, is just as likely to leave me floundering until something comes to me. And since I would prefer that my third book didn’t take years, I think I have to come something more than a rough outline. I’ve had one or two stabs at this already but I need to buckle down and make this work.

  1. Get back to my to-read list

Like the blog, my reading suffered from being focused on NaNoWriMo. So I want to get back to reading & reviewing, plus I have something in the same line that I might talk about another time. I think two reviews this month should do the trick.

I think that will keep me going for the time-being.

  1. Sound’s like you’re focused on getting back on track. And I wonder if you’ll post monthly goals or is there anything special goal/goals for 2017 in a whole?
