As I mentioned in my post about this month’s goals, I’m currently taking a trip back to Scotland to visit family.
Now I expect, aside from the tiredness of travelling (I leave midnight Monday to arrive Wednesday morning), I’ll be doing a fair bit of running around, trying to catch up with as many people as I can in the time I have there. But in between all of that, I also hope to get a little bit of writing time in.
As I’ve said lately, I’ve felt like I’m struggling a lot, not just with the third book but with writing in general. I’m hoping that this trip, with a good part of it being spent in the country village where I grew up, will serve to let me do some recharging and clear my head a bit. Also, the last time I was there, there wasn’t much in the way of a cellular connection so my internet time was limited which might mean fewer distractions. Plus I’ll be spending time in airports, not to mention two transatlantic flights, so I may as well make constructive use of that time.
One thing that is coming out of this trip, specifically regarding the internet availability, is that it’s making me write my blog posts (like this one) ahead of time which is something I had been meaning to start doing anyway. Whether or not that will work, is something still to be determined but we’ll see how it plays out.
